Day 3 of the New year: I can already feel God’s Grace around me more than ever. He keeps on showing up in times when I least expect Him to. I think that’s why we feel more amazed at how good He is. Something as Christians, we feel alone. Like there is no one there, but then God reminds us that He is always in our midst. His love is what surrounds us in our going out and coming in’s. His love for us is what keeps us and reminds us that when people stray away, He will be always by our side. Psalms 33:22(NLT) says “Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone.” This verse reminds me that we have to ask God daily to let His love surround us and remember our hope is in Him. Sometimes, we forget that our hope lies in Him and that we have to put our trust in him. You may ask: How do we put our trust in God? Well, we have to start by defining what is trust. Trust in Hebrew means “to set one’s hope and confidence upon” or “to be secure fearing nothing”. What stood out to me was the word secure; standing firm in the one you believe in. We have to reach a place where we’re placing everything that we are before God; withholding nothing. That means laying our past, present and future before Him. For we ourselves won’t ever comprehend or reach a place where we will fully understand the plans that God has for us. He knows us more than we know ourselves. He knows our imperfections and perfections but still, loves us in spite of. Where God loved us so much that He sacrificed His only son. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NLT). God scarifies His son so that we wouldn’t pay the price. If He was willing to give up His Son, why Is it that we choose not to serve and believe in Him? Is it because we are afraid? Is it because we feel like we are not worth it? His word says that “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7). We shouldn’t be afraid to put our trust in Him but to love Him with everything that we are and to turn from our old ways. His word says “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” (1 Peter 2:9 ESV). My take on this verse was that God is saying that we are worth more than the things of this world. That we have a great calling In His name. So why compare your worthiness? He says “God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin” (1 Corinthians 1:30). That means when we accept Jesus into our lives and believe that He died and rose again, we just strive to turn away from sinful ways. We were made holy in the eyes of God. That is why we should put our hope and trust in Him. Also, by believing that as we seek Him daily, He will speak to our hearts and open our eyes to see Him.
Much Love From Yours Truly,
