The second day of a new beginning; a day where some may already have found loopholes in their New Years Resolution. I’m hoping that those of you that are reading this are not part of that some. That you are still striving and enduring the process of reaching your goals. As I continue to write about my journey; I wanted to give you an insight into what to expect as you follow me along this path. This journey will cover the hardships that I may face, things that are impressed on my heart to speak on, and milestones. I pray that as you come along with me that I am able to encourage, uplift, and be an example. This is a year that I have chosen to be a voice to speak up and to speak my opinion on things that matter to me the most. We have to realize as people that our voice matter and so does our opinion. What we stand for matters as well. But the question that remains: Do we know who we are? At one point in my life, I didn’t know who I was. I was a person that looked for approval in people and always let people dictate who I was supposed to be. That one day I’d crashed, but I didn’t stay down for long. It took me 6 months to find who I was. It had to take me being isolated and spending time in God's presence to find my identity and true purpose. When you feel like you don’t know who you are and your letting people around you dictate your very being; I believe its time you find your true self. God says in His word “ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27(ESV) This means that Identity was already formed in God and that God created man in his own likeness. Who better than spending time in God's word to find your identity in. This reminds us that God knew the very path that we would walk. As we search for ourselves, keep in mind we are not perfect. We will never reach that level of perfection that we push so hard to be. We have to realize that we are still humans; we are going to fall and mess up but the question is What are you going to do to change? As humans we can fall and fall, over and over again but are you going to learn from your falls. Are you going to get up and move forward? We ourselves can be our worst critics because we believe we have to be perfect. Don’t be too hard on yourself, focus on everything else that you have accomplished. This year let it be different. Don’t focus on being perfect but focus on living in the moment; by being true to who you are and who God has called you to be.
Much Love From Yours Truly,
Colleen 💖
