Today, I want us to reflect on the things God has helped you through and helped you overcome. Sometimes as Christians, we get so caught up in our current trial or season that we forget the thing that God has done for us before. By reflecting on the thing that God has helped you overcome, you are reminded that there is nothing that is hard for God. For the battle is not yours, it’s the Lord’s. When you reflect, you will see that God was able to pull you out of the past trials and tribulations you’ve faced. Who said He can’t come through for you now? We have to understand that as Christians, we get so caught up in our situation that we forget to lay it down before God and ask Him to intervene. He wants us to get to a place where we are able to look at the things that He has brought us through, and be thankful for them. The enemy wants us to focus on the negatives because he wants to hold you back from reaching your breakthrough and blessing. When you focus on the negative, you are meditating on the things that the enemy wants to keep you bonded to. But when you focus on the things of God and what He has for you, you will see things manifest before your eyes. His word says “ Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things” ( Philippians 4:8). This means we have to change our mindset and focus on the things of God. We have to shift our minds so it’s fixed on the things of God. Once you do so, you will see your mindset and thoughts change. I wish I could tell you that it will happen overnight, but it's not. You have to remember that everything is a process. It takes time, accountability, and commitment to change your mindset. I urge you to take today to write out a list of things that God has blessed you with or help you overcome. Medicate on those things daily, instead of the negative things and you will see your mindset change.
