Let’s talk about what true genuine worship is to God. As Christians, we have to remember our worship is a reflection of our relationship with God. It means spending intimate time, one on one with Him and getting to know Him on a deeper level. Your worship towards God has to reflect the life you spend with Him. For example, If you're not spending time in His word, meditating and applying what you have learned, how do you expect to live a life that is pleasing to God? If your life is not portraying things of God, your worship is going up in vain. Your life has to be spent in daily concentration with our Father. The way you speak, act, and treat others has to reflect your walk with God. Remember that worship is not a song, tone, voice, or lyric, it’s so much more than that. Worship comes from the deepest place of intimacy with God. Worship is the only thing we can give back to God, but yet many of us hold it back from Him. For instance, prayer allows us to build up and strengthen our faith with God, and the word gives us a guideline as Christians on how we ought to live. The bible calls us to be grateful and humble. It’s important to give Him the thanks and adoration He deserves. Look at the story of Cain and Able (Genesis 4:1-26, ESV); Able sacrificed his best lamb to God to give Him his most special sacrifice, whereas Cain simply sacrificed his best fruit so he would not waste what he Had. This story shows when you come before God you have to prepare an altar before Him; there can’t be an alter without true sacrifice. God doesn’t look at what you can give Him, but rather your true intentions behind your giving. If our intentions are not pure, God will not take our offering of praise and gratitude. The bible states that David was a man that chased after God’s heart. This shows us that we have to be more like David and pursue God, not because of what He can give us in return but because of what He has brought us through already. His word says “ But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” ( 1 Samuel 16:7, ESV) This illustrates that God sees beyond what you can offer, He sees your true self. Remember as Christians we have to come before God with pure intentions. Worship is the one thing we owe God, it is the one place where He Gets all the Glory and Praise. Worship Him because of who He is, not because of what you want from Him.

Much Love From Yours Truly,
